#Realtalk about Human Suffering and the Environment

This post is my perspective on what is happening with the human species currently. It will not be watered down, or coated with sweet words to make the facts go down easier. I have been thinking about this for a while and I do not think that what I have come up with is a definite conclusion or that it is that simple. I do realize the global situation is complex, and there are many factors to what is happening worldwide at this time. But nonetheless, my intention is to open the minds that reads this to see life a bit differently, even if you don’t agree, at least exploring the idea with open curiosity.

Depression and anxiety rates are very high on this planet. Many, if not most people are under enough stress that it is negatively affecting their health. Adrenal fatigue, depression, anxiety are at alarmingly high rates. The surprising thing is that I live in North America where I am directly observing this. There is no war, no starvation, no lack of medical care, no severe poverty. Compared to many other places in the world we are doing pretty damn good. Of course there is some poverty and lack of resources, but I am talking about the general population- the mainstream (in North America). We are pretty well off, but I would not say we are happy – not satisfied as the Rolling Stones song goes ‘I can’t get no satisfaction’…. Oh the plight of the modern age. Of course, there are some people that are happy but again I am talking about the general population. If the general population was happy, there wouldn’t be so much talk about living your dream, trying to escape into some other life, advertising all sorts of material goods to buy to fill the emptiness, plastic surgery etc and depression, anxiety and stress rates wouldn’t be that high.

How many people do you know that are actually happy? Like really, actually happy? Not just saying it, not just pretending, but deeply happy and satisfied? I know a couple, but I wouldn’t say I know a few.

Humanity is chasing after an idea, an idea of happiness. An idea of the dream life. It is pretty, markable and people buy into it, sipping mojitos on a beach anyone? I don’t think it exists. I think that this chasing is a distraction from what is really happening and what is creating our lack of satisfaction. ‘It is never good enough, it is never enough’ is the mantra of our society.

Look at the state of our planet right now. Because of this endless desire, endless craving, the planet is greatly suffering, animals are going extinct at an alarming rate. Yes, this is uncomfortable. Yes, this is not unicorns and rainbows. But we have to face the facts. We cannot go into thinking it will magically take care of itself. Keep reading.

What causes the mass amounts of anxiety and the depression and this feeling of emptiness?

Humans are the stewards of the land. Go back thousands of years, into myth and stories, humans were the guardians. Humans were in relationship with the land. The land depended on us and we depended on it. Yet, now there is memes, ideas circulating that the planet would be better off without humans. The mentality of the human collective has created a state where it is better if humans didn’t exist. We have gone so far from our purpose. We have moved so far away from beings stewards of the land, being in connection with nature, that we are now the destroyers, parasites and viruses of Mother Earth. OH NO, not good… Doesn’t feel good or look good. Yucky..

Joy in connection

We do not protect, we take and take until there is nothing left, all the while doing it mindlessly. We are distracted – by our stressful jobs, our lack of time to do and think about things we enjoy, our cellphones, social media, the television the radio, the news etc. Everywhere we turn someone is telling us to think something, believe something. Giving us no place to be in silence to think for ourselves.

We have a relationship with nature. We take care of it and it takes care of us.

It is all bullshit. It is all a distraction from what is important.

I crave the freedom of my own mind to roam the meadows of my creative thoughts. To dream without interference, for that is when I have moments of deep reflections that I discover what life is really about. What really matters.

I am not writing this to put a new thought into your head. I am writing this for you to think in another way. The mind stream of the main stream heads in one direction, I am saying there is other directions. Sometimes we forget and need to be reminded. Think for yourself.

As I said above, depression and anxiety rates are high. Mental illness rates are high. The worst part being that these people are suffering and many people do not know. It is a silent illness. We can even pretend we are okay and that is why it is so deceiving.

I have struggled with depression and anxiety on and off in my life and what I have found that helped were a few things.

  • Being in nature and connecting with it
  • Being with community and connecting with it
  • Prayer and meditation and connecting with the Divine.
  • Exercising and connecting with my emotions, sweat and tears
  • Writing, painting, connecting with my creativity
  • Slowing down and connecting with my self
  • Connecting to something greater than myself in purpose
The stars tell us a lot about ourselves

There has always been an element of connection. When we connect to things within us and outside of us, we feel better. When we isolate ourselves, feel unsupported we struggle, and don’t know how we will get through. Disconnecting with thoughts and emotions because they are painful and we don’t want to look at them can cause depression. Letting those thoughts be acknowledged and accepted leads us to healing. Re-connecting, re-mending all parts of our minds and psyches leads to healing, just like our flesh.

CONNECTION is vital for our mental and emotional health

(This is a whole discussion in itself but online interaction is not the same as physically being with people. We do not get the juiciness of the interaction, the energetic exchange. It feels and is different.)

Only people smiling are the ones actually interacting…

Nature, we all feel better in nature. Many of my favourite memories are in nature.

Nature has been scientifically proven to reduce our stress rates. Nature does a lot more and the ancients knew that, but science is a bit behind proving. Eventually, they will get there.

Nature is us, and when we are disconnected from it and live in big cities and never get the chance to put our feet in the soil we feel like shit. The earth is the best medicine. I believe that humans are the stewards of the land. We are the guardians of this planet and that is our purpose. I believe depression and anxiety rates are high because we are severely nature deprived, the nature vitamin is missing in our lives. As well, a big part of it is that humans are not connecting, protecting and fostering life/nature and deep down in our subconscious we know this.

Its time we change the story we are writing as a human species

When humans do heroic acts it is celebrated. When a person saves a dog or a child from drowning in an ice lake, when we save a baby bird that has fallen out of the nest we feel good. We feel like our life has meaning. Other people also feel good when they witness these acts. It opens their hearts. That is why we support and buy from organizations and companies that are trying to help and do good things.

Humans are life sustainer, creators and protectors and when we destroy life we suffer because we are life. Focusing on helping life outside of us, helps our life. Humans want to do the right thing and I believe, that when humans aren’t doing what they feel is right, or in alignment with their values, they feel guilty deep inside and this creates the source of inner conflict that leads to hopelessness, depression and anxiety.

Humans protect life.

We want to do the right thing, we want to save the oceans, we want to save the forests, we want to save the animals. We don’t want to pollute the environment. But we are busy, we may feel we do not have the energy to make change and don’t even know where to start, we may be focused on other things. Instead we may be hyper focused on our self, our own suffering and missing the bigger picture. That we are connected to all life forms and if they suffer, we suffer. Of course there is other issues, traumas, unhealthy belief systems, suppressed emotions within us that are contributing to our unhappiness but I am focused on our lack of connection with nature and living beings.

I am still sitting with this thought, and it will evolve and shift as I discover and cleanse my own perceptions. But what now feels to be true to me is that we are severely disconnected and as a human society in need of connection. Connection to self, to family and friends, to community, and to nature. Coming back to being protectors, guardians of the Mother Earth and living in accordance with fostering life. Choosing actions that create life and protect it rather than diminish it. Buying less things to fill our emptiness and instead connecting with living beings that brings us joy (be it people, animals, trees, flowers etc). Bringing in more of the sacred into our lives, and reconnecting to the little, simple things that make us human (complexity creates stress). I think we will find more peace then. Perhaps we won’t be as worried about the future, because we are doing what we want to see happen in the whole world.

If every person makes that change, to be more in connection with nature and living beings, to protect and help life, then we all change and the world changes. I wonder then if the hopelessness with diminish if not totally disappear?

What emotions and feelings came up as you read this? Anger, sadness, despair, worry, hope, interest, excitement? Be curious, explore it. What do you think and feel?

#Realtalk- Compassion & Toxic People

Toxic people…

It has been trending on social media to get rid of toxic people in your life. Have you seen it? Read about it? What are your thoughts about it?

It doesn’t feel good to me.

It feels like its extreme and one sided and doesn’t feel like its coming from a place of love and acceptance but rather anger and rejection.

In my experience, hurting people hurt people. Once I did the healing work and the forgiveness I realized it was never about me. It was never personal and I also had a part to play in it. When we are still angry, hurt and resentful it is almost impossible to see the situation with clarity.

Sometimes we do not get along with people, we may grow away from people, we may not have the same values anymore and that is okay. We may even get in an argument with them and not want to talk to them anymore. They may have a different lifestyle than us. They may have hurt us. They may do things we don’t agree with. They may have abused us.

Still, I don’t feel like its right to label them as toxic. Toxic is such a strong word and how would you feel if someone called you toxic… it would suck. Especially if you are already struggling and suffering with your situation.

When we label someone as toxic we are feeding energy into separation, into the problem that caused the pain in the first place. That they are bad, impure, something is wrong with them and usually it is coming from a place of we are better, we know best, we are healthy. We are above and they are below.

Everyone goes through bad times, everyone does things that may not be good. But it doesn’t make them toxic people. It is an impermanent state and they can and probably will change at some point in time (when they are ready, not by someone pushing them to change). I have done things in my past I am not proud of, we all have. I may have been toxic to someone at some point in my life without evening knowing it but it doesn’t make me a toxic person.

Actions, thoughts and behaviours can be life improving or diminishing but it’s not necessary good or bad. Maybe they need to go through this to learn something. We are no one to judge what is right or wrong for someone. Everyone is travelling a journey we know nothing about and we cannot judge it. We are in the picture so it can be hard to see the whole picture.

It is important we make boundaries and take care of ourselves, and we may not wish to socialize with people one may label as ‘toxic’, but we don’t need to call them that, they may have negative thoughts, emotions, desires. They may be ignorant and in pain but they are still human and we need to treat them as human beings. The golden rule. Treat others as you wish to be treated. EVEN if you are hurt by someone.

Compassion.

Inclusion, not exclusion. Separation creates pain. Outcasting creates pain. Usually, what is needed most is LOVE. Once you emotionally distance yourself from the situation, heal yourself and forgive, you will most likely see at some point that they were pain, were probably reacting from some trauma in their life and it was nothing personal. It was never about you. We probably were colator damage, hurt in the wake of the destruction.

However, I do understand and have been in that place myself that I do not have the inner strength to be centred and am vulnerable to influences that are life diminishing for me and so I had to take my distance. I think doing that can be an act of self love. But I don’t think we need to label the other and put the blame on the other. We can be spiritually mature and own it.

Every situation is unique. Sometimes we have to leave relationships – of course. But I only ask we don’t label them as toxic people, rather it was not a beneficial relationship, the situation wasn’t healthy etc. I do not think it’s just about them, we also were a part of the situation and have ownership to par take in. We also learned something. Let’s not box them in with a label, they are free to change their state.

What are your thoughts on this?

How do we be compassionate and also have healthy boundaries?

What do you feel about being compassionate with ‘toxic’ people?

We all have an Impactful Destiny

Something that is common amongst humans is that we feel we are here for something. Our life has purpose, we know deep down we aren’t here to just flip burgers and waltz our thumbs on our screen. Our life has meaning. We have a destiny. But many of us say ‘I don’t know what it is’. I think we do know what it is, we are just terrified to admit it. Because if we know it then we have to do something about it.

But there is a problem…

Admitting it, we face it. We face it everyday when we aren’t doing what we were born to do. It makes us feel shitty, it makes us feel guilty.

And the problem is…

Our mind.

Everything is possible. But our mind doesn’t let us believe that. It blocks us, sidetracks us, makes us play small. It is very good at deceiving us and making us think we are safe. ‘Don’t you dare do what you are thinking because of x,y,z’. The problem is that if you don’t do it you are preventing your own growth, your own destiny. ONLY YOU can do what you came on this Earth-plane to do, no one else can do it. You are unique and your destiny is unique. Yet, I see soooooooooo many people letting their mind get in the way, stopping them from really having what they truly desire.

Your destiny doesn’t have to relate to work, it can relate to having a family, living somewhere else, writing a book, being a great partner, enlightenment you name it. I don’t want to box you into thinking this destiny= purpose = money. No, that’s a 21 century way of thinking and we are human beings first and foremost before being a ‘money producing machine’.

I see so many dreams die because of a lack of commitment but also because people are scared of themselves. They are terrified of what they could do and so they never do it. What did the ‘little you’ dream of doing in life before you let others peoples beliefs invade your mind? At the end of your life, what will you be content with? Will you be happy with the way you lived? When there is nothing to care about at the end of the day because you are leaving this Earth will you be satisfied with what you did and how you did it? I find reflecting on death helps to put things in perspective. Because death will creep up on us, it is there. We cannot pretend it doesn’t exist.

So as the age old saying goes- the riches place is in the graveyard. I tempt you to make this a false statement. I tempt you to finally write that book, move to someplace you love, do that art project, make music, carve a statue, make a bubblegum castle, marry your best friend whatever, you name it.

The world is yours if you grab it by the balls with no mercy and don’t let go.

Not even when your mind tells you how far you have to fall. Commit to yourself.

If you want to heal and deal with your belief patterns that are holding you back. Contact me and I can help ❤

I wrote a book check it out.

40 Day Meditation- The Trident of Shiva

Join me on a 40 day adventure of meditation to activate self healing- click the link to read more.

Sat nam!

I will be doing a 40 day meditation starting July 1st and I wanted to extend the welcome to all.

The meditation activates the energy of Shiva – the Hindu God of Transformation. This meditation activates the healing process and balances the Gunas ( rajas, tamas, sattva – qualities of all creation). It brings the nervous system together and gives you the ability to heal at a distance, through your touch or projection. It helps to balance and heal psychological disorders and/or imbalances. As well, helps to heal father related issues/phobias.

I do hope you join me on this transformational 40 day adventure. By doing meditations with others we have more support and  the group energy created is very powerful. When we heal ourselves, we heal the world. We help to shift the vibration of the planet to one of more wholeness and light.

I am here to be of service, if you have a hard time with the meditation, or are going through some powerful self healing and need to be heard, or need some guidance I am here for you.

We will be doing this meditation for 11 minutes a day ( every day). However, if you want to do more you are welcome to.

Blessings,

Thalita Angelika

Invoking the Divine Feminine

Sat nam Beauties,

I had a request from many people after my women’s workshop to post the invocation I did as we called down Mother Earth and the energies of the Divine Feminine. This invocation can be used a prayer, a meditation, and/or  you can do a daily  spiritual practice to bring the Divine Feminine into your being. I hope you enjoy and may these words inspire you and remind you of the power that is within You!!

To do the Invocation Raise your arms up to 60 Degrees. Focus on your heart and say these words and feel the presence of the highest power coming into your being.

Invocation of the Divine Feminine

We call down Maha Shakti,

The Great Goddess,

The Life Giver and the Ultimate Mother.

We call her to Awake in US.

We call her to ignite us with our purpose as Creators to make a better world.

We call on Great Mother that rages in the rivers, the one that sustains and maintains all life force.

The one that causes our hearts to beat, that moves our blood through the veins of your oceans and rivers.

Like the rain the pours, your tears cleanse us until we are reborn.

We call on you Great Mother, to take out bodies and merge into form.

For it is with your power we are Reborn.

Shakti, We call on you to awake. Great Mother we call on you to Awake.

The world needs you now.

We need your guidance to show us the right direction.

We need your power to provide protection.

We need your soft touch to heal our wounds.

We need your creativity to show us the solutions.

We need your power to change, and we need your courage to hold the energy you sustain.

Oh Great Mother we call on you now.

To awake within us our truth, creativity and our life breathing Destiny!

So we can serve relentlessly. So we can make this world one of peace, love and harmony.

For WE are Shakti!

I am calling on myself to Wake up!

I am in need of my self right now. The world needs me now!

I am a woman and I am the vessel of creation.

I am the Creator.

I am a Woman!!
