Why I went Vegan- The most impactful way to help the Environment

I have been a vegetarian for over 5 years. People would ask me why I was images1a vegetarian and I had may responses. I would answer:

“Because I don’t feel right eating animals if I didn’t have the heart to kill them.. So why be okay with someone else doing the dirty work?”

” Because I don’t believe in violence in any form, it says “thou shalt not kill” in the Bible, animal lives are not exempt.”

” Because it lowers my frequency, I feel lower emotions like anger, jealously and have more destructive thoughts. It creates more restlessness in my life because when they kill the animals there is cortisol and hormones of fear released and then we consume that and it enters our bodies.”

All of these were good responses, but they weren’t GREAT… I knew it didn’t feel right, but I didn’t have a really convincing argument.

hqdefaultBut then..  I watched Cowspiracy and it all made sense. I have my GREAT reason. As an avid environmentalist, a human and animal rights activist but more so as a Guardian of Gaia I cannot eat meat and say I am an environmentalist. Our planet is facing a strain from the amount of pressure we are putting on it to extract resources in every space and form. As humans we have multiplied to over 7 Billion people and what we eat affects this planet more than we ever thought possible.

Cowspiracy, clearly explains that if the human population goes Vegan- sustaining from meat and dairy we can feed everyone, NO ONE would have to starve anymore.  Eating meat/ dairy is not sustainable for the worlds population and we cannot continue to ignore that our habits of eating must change.

Another benefit of going veggie for our planet is – we would be able to not only save the Amazon rainforest, but be able to start replanting so that it can grow back  (The Amazon is our planets lungs, more oxygen comes from that forest than the whole planet and an acre is destroyed every minute to plant soybeans to feed cows that we then eat as hamburgers, also land is changed for cow grazing land).  The environment would be impacted in a positive way and our global emissions of green houses would go down dramatically reversing climate change. eaf2bc15504779ccc85d1e339390ea69

The meat industry and the pharmaceutical companies do not want the citizens of the world to know that by going vegan, if only part of the time we can greatly help our planet. They have kept this a secret to keep their profits going. And it makes me think… Maybe the cows and pigs aren’t the only ones being farmed.. Could we be apart of some greater farm. Where we are the ones being milked for our money, at the expense of our planet, of our future.

We only have one planet and as conscious beings it is our responsibility to protect what we have been given. Watch the film and make your own decision.

Be Fearless- Meditation

We all have fear.

Its biological, its nature and its a protective mechanism of the mind that tries to guard us from potential issues.

It tries to warn us, but the real problem is when fear takes over our lives. When we are balanced and neutral we are able to discriminate real threats. But when we are stressed, overworked, tired, our fear mind goes into overdrive. We don’t see reality as it is, and we become a victim to fear.

Unfortunately, in our world there are people that create fear for profit. This leads to fear being spread widely; and fear is contagious! If there is an a little bit of doubt within you and someone with fear comes around.. you are going to be affected… Its like a virus, but the immunity is through meditation and keeping your body balanced and healthy.

I want to share a meditation with you that will help you over come fear.

Kriya for Removing Fear of The Future

This meditation clears the fear of the future and connects to the flow of life through the heart center.

Posture & Mudra: Sit comfortably in Easy Pose. Rest the back of the left hand in the palm of the right hand. The right thumb nestles in the palm of the left hand and the left thumb crosses it. The fingers of the right hand curve around the outside of the left hand and hold it gently. Holding your hands in this way will give you a peaceful, secure feeling. Put this mudra at your Heart Center with the palm-side resting against your chest. Meditate to your favorite version of Dhan, Dhan, Ram Das Gur. Start with 11 minutes and slowly and gradually work up to 31 minutes of practice time.

To End: Inhale deeply and relax.

Comments: This meditation takes away your fears of the future which have been created by your subconscious memories of the past. It will force you to deal with your Heart Center. The beauty in you is your spirit.

The strength in you is your endurance. The intelligence in you is your vastness. – Yogi Bhajan

 

The meditation will help to create a neutral space. But to finalize the process. We must bust through fear ! Action in Motion!

Every time we give into fear it gets stronger. Every time we act in spite of it – Courage- we move towards the state of FEARLESSNESS. 

If your scared, jump! Because that is when you are truly living. We are afraid because we don’t know what will happen, but its in the UNKNOWN that we grow/ evolve. If we rotate in our habits we will just be our habits. If we step up and out of it, we enter into a space of Creativity, of pure potential and unlimited opportunity.

So if your scared, have fear. ACKNOWLEDGE IT.. but don’t let it own you. Jump and let the Universe catch you. There is so many amazing gifts waiting!

 

 

 

 

 

YOU WANT CHANGE!?!? BE IT.

Activist movements, protests are all passionately motivated by the intense desire for CHANGE.

Anger, frustration, impatience, unhappiness collect in a strong force to resist that which is oppressing. I have been passionately involved in movements, I used my anger to fuel me to engage in protests and speak about various topics that are affecting our known world. However, this anger, this feeling of injustice did not get me anywhere. Instead it fuelled the opposition and made me upset. I learned that  WHAT WE RESIST, PERSISTS! ( I am in no way saying to stop spreading information about injustice, rather, to direct all of your expansive energy into solutions instead of the issues- which I will discuss below).

What we feed energy, grows. Be it a small child, an animal, a worrying thought, an illness, an idea, OR EVEN THIS BOLDED, CAPITAL TEXTS. IT WORKS BECAUSE MORE ENERGY IS PUT INTO IT, DRAWING YOUR ATTENTION AND FOCUS. I WANT YOU TO SEE IT, SO I MAKE IT LOUD!! BUT IF I KEEP SPEAKING LIKE THIS, IT LOOSES ITS POWER, IT DOESNT STAND OUT ANYMORE, and just seems very obnoxious. This is what happens when we fight something. We get loud, they get louder, then we get louder and its this never ending battle. Ultimately no one ends up where they want to be, they only end up reacting to the opposing force. Both sides get Nowhere, instead of now here. To be NOW HERE, you need to be neutral, calm, centered and immersed in universal truth, not a subjective reality.

When we resist and fight against something, that force will come back in an equal reaction.

This is true in protests, wars, fights, mental thoughts etc.

If you want change, then BE the CHANGE, as Gandhi said.

By demonstrating how you want to live, how you want to be, you are able to create your reality. Instead of enforce it on others.

When you follow your dream  and stop telling everyone else that there’s is wrong, the push back is minimized.

THE ONLY PUSH BACK WILL BE YOUR OWN DOUBTS AND FEARS.

If we want change, then we have to make it in our own lives. Fighting and resisting will only create more  tension.

Awareness is good, spreading information is good. But it is important to do so with a NEUTRAL/ UNBIASED MIND.

Energy needs to be directed in a POSITIVE AND HEALTHY way. Focus on the better alternative, focus on how you want to be, not what you don’t want to be.

If you want to take power ( LIFE)  away from something, DONT FEED IT.

Feeding your passion to the devil, speaking about how bad they are, is causing them to gain power. Politics, corporations, celebrities all feed on publicity. If no one talks about them, then they loose their power. If no one buys their products they loose their power. It is like a plant. Stop giving it sunlight, water, food, it dies…

Same with everything you dont want in your life.

IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO GO AWAY, TO STOP, TO END;

STOP FEEDING IT MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY. 

Let your attention always be focused on love, light and peace, and that will surround you.

Ready to POP- High Stress? Solution.

Many times we do not realize how and why we are unhappy. We are running from ourselves to avoid pain either through craving or aversion. We are trying to constantly become, instead of be. It is the present moment, when we merge with what we are doing that we free ourselves from stress and anxiety. Why learning how nature works, the Ocean etc we can know how to act. By riding out the good and bad times and being in our centre through it, we come to enlightenment.

What do you do? What are you going to be?

Achieve, Achieve, Achieve

Chase after success, success, success…

Until your adrenals are maxed out and you don’t know if you are coming or going,

Sending text messages, responding from this device to that device,

Getting headaches, forgetting appointments, forgetting your even breathing…

Why?

Why are we pushing ourselves to the point of exhaustion? Why are we forcing ourselves to try so hard? Why are we always living in the future?

As though we are not already enough…

9dc6839edd264b04f21a8a458cad4ba5ENERGY FOLLOWS THE LEAST PATH OF RESISTANCE, it is a universal law.. then why are we creating resistance within ourselves, making life in general more difficult because we are trying, rather than allowing, surrendering, and flowing.

The best surfers and dancers feel the rhythm, the pulsation of the wave, they move with it, merge with it and be it. They don’t BECOME anything, they are it..

So perhaps, we need to STOP, breathe, and take a moment. Be with the moment instead of forcing our will upon it.

All that tension in our muscles is us not being cool with whats happening. Let it go, stop holding on so tightly, use that breath to soften you, to cleanse you. 

Inhale deeply into the abdomen, exhale…. Inhale, go to the area of tension, exhale…. REPEAT. 

All stress and anxiety is a pressure on the self, whereas, when you are sincerely passionate and doing it out of love you are free in the activity, you are the activity.

Success follows passion. Whereas, stressing yourself out will end you up in a grave, hospital, mamas arms..

So…? Surf that wave, keep practicing, every time you fall down, get back up. Learn to flow with the waves.. Eventually you will get to where you want to be, but it will happen on the Oceans time. The Ocean decides… All you can do is get really good at surfing. 6dd5485b85794d5b83d746dba0942eb9
